The Big Yard Legacy

 Why I chose this business. People often ask why I chose to open this business. The truth is, the answer goes back long before business plans or licenses. It goes back to a little place in Jamaica, where I was raised by my grandmother in what we called the Big Yard. That yard was more than a home. It was a safe place where people were welcome from morning until night. What made that place special wasn't the size of the yard, it was the heart inside it. My grandmother had a way of making everyone feel seen. She gave without measure, not because she had extra, but because that was simply who she was. Watching her love people with such patience and openness taught me that care isn't an act, it's a way of living. As I grew older and life took me further from that yard, the memory stayed close. And when I thought about what kind of business I wanted to build, I knew it had to reflect those roots. Not just a company that provides services, but one that restores dignity, offers comfort, earns trust. I want every person we serve to feel the same sense of belonging I felt as a child in that big yard. This business is my way of carrying my grandmother's legacy forward. It's a promise to lead with compassion, to value people over profit and to remember that every home we enter is a privilege, not just a job. Because to me, care is not a transaction, it's a relationship. And that belief, born in a big yard full of love, is what guides everything we do today. That is why I opened this business.
